Part of The Harriet and Will series

Eleven-year-old Harriet Cooper and her friend, Will Taylor, find themselves caught up in three time-slip escapades.

The discovery of an old book at the library containing not just one, but three, secret rings leads the friends to adventures galore as they travel from Ancient Rome to Philippi and on to Sherwood Forest.

Their school project will be in the bag…if they survive! But can they return in time to complete the project?

This was a delightful read packed full of adventure and learning. There is plenty of suspense and thrills to keep the young reader turning the pages. I found this story was a fabulous way for kids to read and learn about people from the past and the many battles that their daily lives encountered.. It was a thoroughly enjoyable adventure that kids 8 -12 will equally appreciate. I gave this story 5 out of 5 stars.

Like all great stories, this one begins and ends in a library. Harriet and Will get more than they bargained for when they discover three magic rings in one of the reference books that have the power to transport them back in time. What child doesn’t like the idea of finding a magic ring?

Young children will enjoy this interesting and enjoyable book, which lends itself to many more adventures and glimpses into the past lives of historical legends.

Debra Clewer really understands what captures the imagination of young readers. Her books are a joyous blend of history, time-travel, and fantasy, and all starring a wonderfully realistic heroine in Harriet. Young readers will identify with Harriet's challenges at school and at home, and thrill to both her triumphs and disappointments as she navigates the path to growing up.
